The cannabis industry has all the ingredients to contribute to
economic growth, social justice, and a safer, better medical system. Unfortunately, the stigma around cannabis is still an issue today. People are unaware of true reasons why and how it became illegal in the first place. For the longest time, cannabis prohibition in the U.S. has been driven by political agendas and racial injustice.
Today, cannabis remains a Schedule 1 substance under the U.S. Controlled Substances Act (CSA), meaning that in the face of the
law, it has no currently accepted medical use and a high potential
for abuse, which has never been the case.
The project consists of a monthly magazine CANNABIUS that focuses on unraveling the truth around the plant and an APP that serves as a platform for people to connect and educate themselves through weekly lifestreams with scientists, celebrities and leading experts of this industry. It also shares the resources to support federal legalization. Using atypical colors to the industry, friendly illustrations and graphic charts, I intended to break the visual stigma that surrounds this topic.
